Annual Appeal

Dear Friends,

We’ve all been wading through difficult economic times.  These are days when we are drawn to count the cost of everything very closely.  Who among us doesn’t relate?  Even so, we can recognize and affirm the fact that some things in life are truly priceless.  Certainly that is true when it comes to our children and grandchildren.  At Atlantic Christian School, we are dedicated to teaching students to know, love, and serve God in a nurturing environment of academic excellence.  This goal is worthy of sacrifice and yields priceless results.

At ACS, we often comment on how deeply it touches our hearts to watch the young children race into our building each morning with smiling faces.  And it never ceases to amaze me how many of them aren’t ready to go home at the end of the day.  But the impact of ACS does not stop with young children.

Recently, we have received some especially memorable correspondence from a few of our Atlantic Christian School graduates and current students expressing the impact our school has had on their lives. These kind and encouraging words remind us why we do what we do.

A young man wrote, “I just thought I would take a moment to truly thank you for all you’ve done for me.  I could never explain how grateful I am that you were in my life at the right time.  I saw you as a mentor and still do.  THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT THE WAY YOU SHOWED ME GOD’S LOVE (I felt the need to capitalize that).  I can honestly say that I am a better man because of you.  I just wanted to say thank you.”

A young woman penned, “I am so thankful for everything ACS has done for me.  If it wasn’t for you and God’s grace, I wouldn’t be where I am today.  God has done so many crazy/beautiful things in my life.  He has taught me that as you aggressively pursue God, He will go to the depths of your heart in order to bring freedom and wholeness.”

A current middle-school student recently stated, “It’s amazing that I can be in a school with a lot of Christians. Before I came here I felt that I could be led down the wrong path.  My parents put me in this school to get me closer to God, and I am already.”

Whether a pupil is four or fourteen, parents trust teachers to help usher their children into healthy adulthood and through the tricky trails of being a young person in the 21^st century. At Atlantic Christian School, our teachers trust God to help lead the young people entrusted to them. Our Lord’s abundant and unconditional love is the most important lesson our teachers hope to impart.

Together we can continue the ministry of Atlantic Christian School in working with young people from our area.  We need you to join us with your prayers and financial support.  This year we must raise $300,000.00. These funds are necessary to keep this transformational education affordable.
