From kindergarten to the fifth grade, our teachers seek to uplift, motivate, and encourage each child to succeed in mastering the essential learning skills of phonics-based reading, writing, grammar, spelling, and vocabulary. The timeless truths of the Bible are taught at every grade level, enhanced by Scripture memorization.

Math, science, health, social studies, and introduction to a foreign language are also integral parts of the curriculum. Every aspect of the curriculum is presented in the light of God’s Word and in a Christ-centered environment that promotes the essential character traits of respect, honesty, and kindness. A manners curriculum is introduced in first grade and expanded through fourth grade. The fifth grade classes integrate a biblical conflict resolution program annually.

In addition to the elements of a classical education, the following enrichment activities are offered to elementary students.

  • Music – Classroom music instruction is provided twice a week to all students in first through 5th grade.
  • Art & Computer – Art and computer instruction are provided once a week. An annual art show showcases the talents of students in various mediums, from watercolors and pencil, to oils, clay and acrylics.
  • P.E. – Physical education is provided twice a week. A progressive program introduces students to basic sports skills and locomotor movement and advances to team play and cooperative games. Good sportsmanship is emphasized at every level. Students in 1st through 5th grade participate in the Presidential Physical Fitness program.
  • Chapel – A weekly chapel service brings students together to worship through songs, skits, sermonettes, and special presentations by local pastors, missionaries, and other guest speakers.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities – Each class plans it own special activities, such as seasonal parties and at least two field trips each year that enrich their classroom learning experience. Participation in an annual Spelling Bee and Math Olympics provide students with an opportunity to test their skills against their fellow students as well as compete with students in the region.
